Touchon & Co Chronograph Watches

Touchon & Co produced two main types of chronograph pocket watch ( excluding repeaters also equipped with this function ) ..... no chronograph wristwatches were produced, so any you see are recased pocket watches.

 

They produced centre second chronographs with 30 minute registers and flyback functions as well as the much more complex and rare split second flyback chronographs, again with 30 minute registers.

 

Some of them were produced for Tiffany & Co as was the case with many of Touchon & Co's other watches. Their pure chronographs ( as opposed to repeaters with Chrono work ) were all based on the early Touchon & Co 21 jewel movement which is featured elsewhere on this site with extra jewelling as required. They are generally all signed on the movement by Touchon & Co and tend to bear the retailer's name as well.

 

The featured watch here is my own 22 jewel Split Second Flyback Chronograph with 30 minute register produced by Touchon & Co for Tiffany & Co. It bears the Tiffany name on the dial with the usual 'Made for Tiffany & Co by Touchon & Co' legend on the case as well as the movement. These watches are extremely rare. This one has a Rose Gold gear train and woolf's tooth winding as well as Rose Gold chrono wheels. The chrono work is exceptionally fine.
